Lucian Beschiu (b. 1986) studied orchestral conducting at the National University of Music Bucharest. He earned his doctorate degree at the same university in 2016, with the thesis Musical Rendering – a Phenomenological Approach. His additional studies with the conductor Konrad von Abel in Munich had a decisive influence on his approach to music.

Up to 2014, his main activity was conducting, mostly in contemporary music festivals in Romania, like Meridian, SIMN, Bucharest Music Film Festival. He conducted several philharmonic orchestras in his home country, orchestras of the National University of Music Bucharest and project orchestras / ensembles in Romania, Germany, Spain, Belgium. Between 2012 – 2014 he was the principal conductor of the SonoMania ensemble, which promotes modern and contemporary music.

Lucian Beschiu has collaborated with the Musikproduktion Höflich München as a music engraver since 2009. In this capacity, he has co-edited with Christoph Schlüren the Foulds Edition and other works that he has reissued or transcribed directly from the manuscript. As editor, he is responsible for the Romanian Music Collection, which aims to bring Romanian composers to the international stage. …
