Während durch die unermüdliche verdienstvolle Tätigkeit der Internationalen Draeseke-Gesellschaft (IDG, seit 1986) Draesekes sinfonisches Schaffen, seine Kammermusik und seine Chorwerke mehr und mehr Verbreitung gefunden haben, bleiben seine Lieder * noch nahezu unbeachtet. Das dürfte vor allem daran liegen, daß sie teilweise nur schwer zugänglich und in nicht immer fehlerfreien Drucken greifbar sind. Erfreulicherweise haben Vorstand und Mitglieder der IDG positiv auf meine Vorschläge für einen Neudruck reagiert …

While Draeseke’s symphonic oeuvre, his chamber music and his choral works have become more and more widely known thanks to the tireless and commendable work of the International Draeseke Society (IDG, since 1986), his songs * remain virtually unnoticed.
