The composition of the present Sinfonia in D á 14 instromenti: 2 violini, 2 oboe, 2 flauti traversi, 2 fagotti, corni di caccia, 2 trombe, viola e basso is attributed to the composer Koželuch on the title page (Del Sig. Koželuch). However, it remains unclear whether this refers to the elder Jan Antonín Kozeluch (1738–1804) or the more renowned Leopold Kozeluch (1747–1818)1. The identification of the composer is further complicated by the fact that Leopold Kozeluch was originally also named Jan Antonín. He later changed his name to avoid confusion.
The two Kozeluch cousins were connected not only by familial ties but also Jan Antonín instructed the younger Leopold in the art of
