(poème et musique de R. Laparra)

Dedication:
À Monsieur et Madame Albert Carré.
Albert Carré (1852-1938) and Marguerite Giraud-Carré (1880-1947) were significant figures in the Parisian theatrical world, serving as director and soprano star of the Opéra-Comique. Albert produced Laparra’s La Habanera in 1908.

“Mr. Laparra, poet and musician, found in Mr. Albert Carré not just a director, but a collaborator who, with the assuredness of an artist, knew how to give his lyrical drama the setting it deserved. His staging is a masterpiece.”
